Tokyo 2020 goes flexible

29.07.2019

Flexible working is great for so many reasons – childcare, appointments, work life balance and even commuting.

But from home has always been seen as a perk for the individual and rarely for the environment, until now.

With the anticipation of Tokyo 2020 building and preparations well underway, so are plans to reduce congestion during the Olympics. There are more than 8 million people commuting into Tokyo every day and the arrival of thousands of sports fans is expected to pile excessive pressure onto the City’s already crowded train system.

To target this, around 600,000 employees from 3,000 companies are set to work from home during the Olympic games, in what the campaign is calling ‘Telework Days’.
