Navigating the Nationwide Stop-Sell

15.09.2023

The UK-wide national Stop-Sell initiative came into effect on 5th September. This means that customers will no longer be able to place orders for new copper-based lines, however existing customers will still retain access to their current services.

Consequently, this change will also impact customers' ability to make alterations and enhancements to their services, limiting their capacity to effectively utilise and expand their network as needed.

There are a few exceptions to the Stop-Sell, where alternative products such as SOGEA/FTTP are not available, you can read more about this here

What will be affected by the nationwide stop-sell?

1. The supply of the following services will be discontinued:

  • WLR single/multi lines
  • ISDN2
  • ISDN30
  • ADSL
  • FTTC

2. EFM Copper Services based on the Openreach legacy network have been terminated starting from August 31st, 2023.

Services that will no longer be available include:

  • Taking over working lines
  • Initiating previously stopped lines
  • Modifying DDI ranges
  • Migrations
  • Transfers of Like-for-Like Communications Providers (CP)
  • Adding broadband to existing copper voice lines
  • Adjusting bandwidth
  • Adding or removing lines and channels from existing installations (e.g., ISDN channel additions/removals)
