The Comms National Awards has long been one of the most important events in the calendar for IT and telecom professionals across the UK. Sponsored by 9 Group for the seventh year in a row and with a reputation of being the industry party of the year, we were excited for what the night might deliver. We invited selected partners for a night of fun, fanfare and fizz, following an afternoon of tennis at The Queen’s Club.
Comms Dealer’s Editorial Director Nigel Sargent opened the proceedings with an inspirational and uplifting speech, which set the scene for a night of celebrations and recognition.
The host was kept top secret until the very moment BBC’s Huw Edwards stepped on stage. The Welsh journalist and newsreader is famed for being the BBC’s lead presenter for breaking news in the UK, and now for compering Comms National Awards!
Watching as each team celebrated their win on stage to the acclaim of the audience was a real thrill. The 9 Group Customer Service award was presented by brand ambassador, Gordon Reid MBE. Pam Blanchard from ICA took to the stage with Gordon and Huw to receive the award for the ‘up to £5m’ category and Aerial Direct were deserving winners of the ‘above £5m’ category.
